I am a Communication Designer and a Letterpress printer. I create artwork using a 1300 pound machine made in 1913. Letterpress was once a necessary process for making books, posters, and every other printed piece of advertisement and entertainment. It almost died when new innovation in printing came along, but in recent years has evolved into an incredible art form backed by a strong and interwoven community. I consider myself lucky to be part of a still growing number of printers who are working to keep history alive and practicing preservation through production.
